How to put your drawing on a t-shirt

· 5 min read

Yes, you can put your own drawing on a t-shirt. Scan or photograph the artwork, clean up the image, then upload it to the Shawn's Custom design studio. You can order one printed tee from ₱158, with the front print included and no minimum order. Here's how to prepare it before you pay.

1. Capture the drawing clearly

If you have a scanner, lay the paper flat and scan in colour to preserve the original marks. A phone photo works too: use even daylight, keep your phone directly above the page and avoid shadows from your hand or phone. Check that all four corners of the page look square rather than tilted.

Keep the original, full-resolution image. A screenshot or a copy downloaded from a chat can lose detail. Zoom in on pencil lines and lettering before moving on; if they are already blurred, take the photo again.

2. Decide whether the paper belongs in the design

Crop away the table and anything outside the artwork. Adjust brightness gently so the drawing stays visible. Strong contrast adjustments can erase pale pencil marks or watercolour detail.

If you want only the drawing to print, remove the paper background and export a transparent PNG. Check the edges and the spaces inside letters. Saving a JPG as a PNG does not remove its background automatically. If the paper texture is part of the artwork, keep it; a rectangular illustration can be an intentional choice.

3. Match the image to the printed size

The size on the shirt matters more than the DPI number saved in the file. For a design 25 cm wide, aim for about 2,953 pixels across for 300 DPI. Increasing the DPI setting alone will not restore missing detail in a small image.

Our studio checks resolution at the size you place the image: Good at 200 DPI or more, OK from 150 DPI, with a warning below that. Aim for 300 DPI when preparing your original. A smaller chest design can be a better choice for artwork that cannot support a large print.

4. Upload and place it on your shirt

You can do this in your phone's browser. If you want another opinion on the file before ordering, email shawnscustomph@gmail.com for a free design check.

  1. Open Shop shirts, choose a shirt, colour and size, then open Customize.
  2. Upload the prepared drawing from your phone or computer.
  3. Resize and position it inside the printable area. Use the centimetre measurements to check how big it will be.
  4. Preview the shirt and check that no paper edges, unwanted background or cropped lettering remain.
  5. Check the price and your selected size before adding it to the cart.

What will it cost, and when can it arrive?

A printed round neck tee starts at ₱158, including the front print. A back print adds ₱50. There is no minimum, so you can order one shirt to see your drawing in print before planning a batch. Delivery and any extra print locations affect the final total.

Most orders arrive in 1–3 days after ordering. We book Lalamove for NCR and J&T outside NCR; remote destinations may take longer. If you need it for a specific date, confirm timing with us before paying. Payment is half upfront, with the balance on delivery; COD is not available.

Already have a shirt? Bring-your-own-shirt printing starts at ₱60, usually ready in 1–2 hours. Contact us first to check the garment and arrange the order.
